| Introduction | GAP43 is a phosphoprotein of the presynaptic membrane that takes part in synaptic reorganization and neural development. GAP43 is found in large quantities in neuronal growth cones all throµgh the development and axonal regeneration. Additionally, GAP43 is involved in specific regions of the normal adult nervous system and has a vital part in the conservation mechanism of long-term potentiation (LTP). |
