Introduction | SRM is an enzyme which catalyzes the transfer of the propylamine group from S-adenosylmethioninamine to putrescine in the biosynthesis of spermidine. The polyamines putrescine, spermine and spermidine are ubiquitous polycationic mediators of cell growth and differentiation. The SRM protein is one of four enzymes in the polyamine-biosynthetic pathway and completes the final step of spermidine biosynthesis. |
Synonyms | Spermidine synthase, SPDSY, Putrescine aminopropyltransferase, SRM, SPS1, SRML1, PAPT. |
Source | Escherichia Coli. |
Physical Appearance | Sterile Filtered colorless solution. |
Formulation | The SRM solution (1 mg/ml) contains 20mM Tris-HCl buffer(pH 8.0), 10% glycerol, 2mM DTT and 0.1M NaCl. |
Stability | SRM should be stored desiccated below -18°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles. |
