NAGK Human Recombinant produced in E. coli is a single polypeptide chain containing 367 amino acids (1-344) and having a molecular mass of 39.8kDa.NAGK is fused to a 23 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
NAGK is a member of the eukaryotic-type N-acetylglucosamine kinase family. NAGK converts endogenous N-acetylglucosamine (GlcNAc), a key component of complex carbohydrates, from lysosomal degradation or alimentary sources into GlcNAc 6-phosphate. NAGK is a prominent salvage enzyme of amino sµgar metabolism in mammals. NAGK cooperates with STK16 and LNX1 and has ManNAc kinase activity.
The NAGK solution (1mg/ml) contains 20mM Tris-HCl buffer (pH 8.0), 100mM NaCl, 2mM DTT and 20% glycerol.
Store at 4°C if entire vial will be used within 2-4 weeks. Store, frozen at -20°C for longer periods of time. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
