Amyloid P Component Human Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain having a molecular weight of 23.5 kDa.APCS contains T7 tag at N-terminus and is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
The protein encoded by this gene is a glycoprotein, belonging to the pentaxin family of proteins, which has a characteristic pentameric organization. These family members have considerable sequence homology which is thoµght to be the result of gene duplication. The binding of the encoded protein to proteins in the pathological amyloid cross-beta fold sµggests its possible role as a chaperone. This protein is also thoµght to control the degradation of chromatin. It has been demonstrated that this protein binds to apoptotic cells at an early stage, which raises the possibility that it is involved in dealing with apoptotic cells in vivo.
APCS containing 10mM Tris, pH 8.0, 0.01% Triton X-100 and 0.002% NaN3 and 10mM DTT.
Store at 4°C if entire vial will be used within 2-4 weeks. Store, frozen at -20°C for longer periods of time. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
