Myc Human Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated, Polypeptide chain containing 439 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 48.8kDa.The Myc is fused to a C-terminal poly-arginine tag and purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
c-Myc is a multifunctional, nuclear phosphoprotein that plays a role in cell cycle progression, apoptosis and cellular transformation. It functions as a transcription factor that regulates transcription of specific target genes. Mutations, overexpression, rearrangement and translocation of c-Myc have been associated with a variety of hematopoietic tumors, leukemias and lymphomas, including Burkitt lymphoma. There is evidence to show that alternative translation initiations from an upstream, in-frame non-AUG (CUG) and a downstream AUG start site result in the production of two isoforms with distinct N-termini. The synthesis of non-AUG initiated protein is suppressed in Burkitt's lymphomas, sµggesting its importance in the normal function of this gene.
MYC, CMYC, C-MYS, V-MYC, P64.
Sterile Filtered White lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder.
Myc was lyophilized after extensive dialysis against PBS.
It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized Myc in sterile PBS not less than 100
Lyophilized Myc althoµgh stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution Myc should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C.Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.
Amino Acid Sequence
The sequence of the first five N-terminal amino acids was determined and was found to be Met-Pro-Leu-Asn-Val.
Greater than 95.0% as determined by:(a) Analysis by SEC-HPLC.(b) Analysis by SDS-PAGE.
